Juan Francisco Patrón Sánchez, head of the infamous Beltrán Leyva cartel, was assassinated by the military along with seven accomplices during the dramatic midnight raid.

Shocked witnesses captured the scene on camera, showing the enormous aircraft hovering above Sanchez’s compound in the city of Tepic in the west of the country.
