Father Searched 27 Days For His Missing 14-Year-Old Daughter... Found Her Trapped On A Boat! (Commentary)
In December 2024, 14-year-old Emmarae Gervasi from East Patchogue, Long Island, went missing after getting into a car with someone she had met online. Her father, Frank Gervasi, launched an extensive search, fearing she was being held against her will. After 26 days, an anonymous tip led him to a boat docked in Islip, where he found and rescued his daughter.
Authorities arrested 65-year-old Francis Buckheit in connection with the case, charging him with kidnapping, rape, and endangering the welfare of a child. Investigations revealed that Emmarae had been subjected to abuse and was allegedly being prepared to be moved to another location by boat.
Further investigations led to the arrest of 47-year-old Bunice Knight, who was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, among other offenses. Both suspects have pleaded not guilty, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of their involvement and whether others were part of the trafficking operation.
Emmarae is currently in a facility receiving care and support for her recovery. Her father has expressed immense relief at her safe return and is now focusing on raising awareness about the dangers of human trafficking, urging parents to remain vigilant. | Posted by Thrillz
