Former NFL Star Leigh Bodden - Wake Up Cover (Yall MuF***as Sleep) Dedication to the Black Lives Lost [Unsigned Artist]
Former NFL star, Leigh Bodden, continues to be a voice for #BlackLivesMatter with the release of his latest visual, "Wake Up (Yall MuF***as 'Sleep)." The call-to-action song is a remake of Teddy Pendergrass' hit song, "Wake Up Everybody." With a recent spike in police brutality toward the African American community, Bodden has experienced first-hand racial discrimination by police. Bodden has decided to be a voice and speak the truth about the Black lives lost recently, and in the past. "I love old music because it has a message. The lyrics to this song, speak to the community and things that need to be improved today," says Bodden on his inspiration behind covering the song. "It's been remade by John Legend and others, but I felt the new generation needed an updated 'wake up' call."
