Upon the arrival of officers, the women refused to provide identification and refused to leave the store upon the request of an officer. Officers began to remove the women from the store and she attempted to get away but failed.

A New York Uber driver picked the wrong customer to be a Karen with. Instagram user Roger Alexander posted a video on his account @A_M_Visuals documenting a confrontation with an Uber driver. The driver, who was identified as Cherla Batista, called the police on Alexander and his female companion, @_Unidegar.
 
She complained to the police that the couple refused to leave her car and claimed that Alexander had stolen her iPhone charger. Alexander claimed that the driver had her charger and actually stole his as well.
 
While most Karen situations have â€œmy word against yoursâ€� outcomes, this driver had a dash camera recording the entire ride. And Alexander was more than ready to have NYPD review the footage.
 
In a voiceover, Alexander explained the situation.
 
â€œSo this Karen took my charger, stuffed it under her seat, and when I told her I wasnâ€™t leaving until she gave it back, she called the cops like it was supposed to scare the Black people away,â€� he said. â€œNow I could have just let this go. He reportedly confessed to the killing, and authorities ruled her death a homicide at the scene.

The family now says Stephanie’s kindness was her downfall. They describe her as loving, forgiving, and trusting — sometimes to a fault. “She thought she could change him,” one family member said. “But he was always a monster hiding in plain sight.” Many are now questioning how such visits are approved in the first place and whether more precautions should be in place to protect civilians engaging with violent offenders, even as spouses.
