Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew is to officially announce Thursday that a redesign of the $10 will feature the first woman on the nation's paper money in more than a century. The last woman featured on U.S. paper money was Martha Washington. Lew is asking the public for suggestions on who should be chosen for the bill, as well as what symbols of democracy it should feature. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, a Democrat from New Hampshire, is sponsoring legislation to put a woman on the $20 bill, but she praised Lew for moving forward with the decision to use the $10 bill. Shaheen said in a statement, "While it may not be the twenty dollar bill, make no mistake, this is a historic announcement."

Kodak Black, was scheduled to be sentenced Thursday for violating the terms of his house arrest, but a Broward County judge decided to give the rapper a second chance. Kodak had been facing the potential maximum of eight years in state prison, as the Broward state attorneyâ€™s office was requesting. Instead, the county judge sentenced him to 364 days in the county jail. The Judge decided that with the completion of a life skills course, the sentence would be shortened to 180 days. When and if that happens, Kodak would also get credit for the total amount of time heâ€™s already spent in jail. Posted By Persist
