Hero Pit Bull Dies After Saving Her Family From An Attacker With A Knife!

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A pit bull is being hailed a hero and grieved by her family after the canine protected them from a man armed with a knife, WBBH reports.

Lucy, a 6-year-old pit bull, died while defending her owner, her family said.

Walter Williams, 48, allegedly menaced Lucy’s owner with a knife and refused to drop the weapon, her family said. When Lucy jumped between Williams and her family, he stabbed the dog.

“She was everything to me, like my little girl, my baby, my daughter,” owner Rodrick Gibbons said.

He had Lucy since she was a puppy.

“She is family,” he said.

And last week, that relationship was put to the test.

“She knew who her family was, so she really did a good job,” Victoria Snyder said.

Lucy ran into an apartment with her family when they heard their grandmother screaming for help. Lisa Potts said her ex-boyfriend, Williams, was attacking her.
