IG model @iambrookee_ "A 27-year-old off-duty school safety agent was killed and two others wounded in a shooting outside a bar in Queens where all three were celebrating their birthdays.
 
It happened outside the Solletto Lounge on Steinway Street in Astoria around 4 a.m.The woman who died was identified as Mye Johnson, who reportedly shared a Wednesday birthday with another woman who was shot. They both turned 27.
 
The third victim, a man who may be Johnson's boyfriend, turned 27 on Thursday.
 
Johnson was shot in the torso and leg, while the other woman was struck in the knee and the man in the buttocks and arm.
 
All three were rushed to the hospital, where Johnson succumbed to her injuries.
 
Johnson has been a school safety agent since June of 2017 and was assigned to JHS 117 in Brooklyn, though she has been out on medical leave since July of 2020.
 
She was the mother of a 7-year-old boy.
 
Police say the current investigative theory is that the suspect, who was denied entry into the club because he was armed, is Johnson's ex-boyfriend and waited for her to emerge.
 
The suspect is believed to have fled in a white BMW sedan across the RFK Bridge into the Bronx." - ABC7NY

PARIS (AP) — As bystanders screamed for help, a man with a knife stabbed four young children at a lakeside park in the French Alps on Thursday, assaulting at least one in a stroller repeatedly. Authorities said the children, between 22 months and 3 years old, suffered life-threatening injuries, and two adults were also wounded.
 
The helplessness of the young victims and the savagery of the attack sickened France, and drew international condemnation.
 
A suspect, identified by police as a 31-year-old Syrian, was detained in connection with the morning attack in the town of Annecy. French authorities said he had recently been refused asylum in France, because Sweden had already granted him permanent residency and refugee status a decade ago.
 
Witnesses reported scenes of terror as the man roamed the park, ambushing victims with his blade.
 
“I said to the police, ‘Shoot him, kill him! He’s stabbing everyone,’” Anthony Le Tallec, a former professional soccer player who was jogging when he came across the attacker, said.
 
Lead prosecutor Line Bonnet-Mathis said the man’s motives were unknown but did not appear to be terrorism-related. He was armed with a folding knife, she said.
 
She said all four children suffered life-threatening knife wounds. The youngest is 22 months old, two are age 2 and the oldest is 3, she said. Two of them are French, the other two were tourists — one British, the other Dutch, she said.
 
Two adults also suffered knife wounds — life-threatening for one them, the prosecutor said. One of the adults was hurt both with the attacker’s knife and later by a shot fired by police as they were making the arrest, Bonnet-Mathis said.
 
Video appearing to show the attack in and around a children’s play park was posted on social media. The footage showed a man in dark glasses and with a blue scarf covering his head brandishing a knife, as people screamed for help. Posted By Ghost

One man is in custody charged with attempted sodomy after he allegedly assaulted a 2-year-old girl at a playground. That childâ€™s mother managed to fight the man off, according to court documents, and now he faces felony charges.
 
William L. Bates Jr., 24, of Kansas City, Mo., is charged with 1st degree attempted sodomy, and attempted statutory sodomy with a person less than 12 years old.
 
Prosecutors said on Friday, Bates was at Kemp Playground near 9th and Harrison. A 2-year-old girl was playing on a swing when Bates, as the childâ€™s mother told police, began â€œeyeballingâ€� her children. The mother said Bates walked up behind and snatched the child off the swing, grabbing her by her hips and pulling her diaper down.
 
The mother said she saw Bates lift his shirt and take his pants down, and begin thrusting against her daughter. The mother ran at him and knocked him to the ground. The mother continued to hit Bates while he was on the ground.â€� Posted By Ghost
