Florida teen didn't hesitate to shoot a masked intruder who had a gun pointed at his mother. It was only after the man was dead that the teen realized it was his estranged father. Malachi Heisler, 18, woke up around midnight Tuesday to the sound of someone calling his name. He opened his eyes, grabbed his rifle then saw the source of the cry: a man in tactical gear was holding a gun to his mother's head. The man redirected his aim toward Heisler, but the teen shot first and hit the masked intruder in the head, killing him. The man was Heisler's estranged father, John, a felon with a history of drug and alcohol abuse who was legally barred from the family's St. Petersburg home. Posted By Persist
