A crazed man armed with a large wooden club smashed his way through the front window of a South Side home in broad daylight. Pruski and her husband did what they could to fend off the suspect but their ongoing medical issues prevented them from subduing him. Pruski recalled being on the phone with police when their 12-year-old daughter came to the rescue. Sara played softball in middle school. With her family in danger, she grabbed her trusty bat and fearfully swung it over and over again. Her actions kept the suspect subdued until police arrived. A man who raps about robbing ATMs was arrested for robbing an ATM. Ladesion Riley, 30, was one of four people arrested in Tennessee on Monday. The Nashville Police Department says the four carried out a plot to rob an ATM technician as he serviced a Bank of America machine. Two people accused of stealing an ATM from a SAFE Credit Union Wednesday. According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, it happened around 6:15 a.m. at the location on Watt Avenue in North Sacramento. The release says one person was operating a forklift while the other person was driving a white pickup truck. Thousands of dollars gone in seconds after two ATMs were broken into in Shelbyville. 
 
Shelbyville police said that on Saturday, Oct. 9, just after 5 a.m., a machine belonging to Commonwealth Credit Union on Boone Station Road was busted open. 
 
According to police, two masked men pulled up in a stolen truck. Then, using tow straps and hooks, they pulled the ATM machine open and started grabbing cash. Police said after that, they ditched the truck and left. 
 
Sgt. Kelly Cable said detectives assume the culprits got away in a getaway car. 
 
Days later, a repeat crime -- that was caught on video shown in the player above -- happened in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Oct. 12. Police said it was 1:30 a.m. and a Commonwealth Bank ATM was broken into on Mt. Eden Road -- the same way. 
 
According to police, the first machine was holding about $80,000. It's unclear how much was in the other. 
 
Since the crimes are so similar, police believe they are connected, but are still investigating. Posted by JR
