A traffic accident in Yonkers resulted in a woman being pinned under a car.

Surveillance video captured the shocking moment that took place around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

A woman crossing New Main Street was struck by a car and knocked to the ground.

As the woman struggled to get up, video showed the driver stop and start to get out, but never put the vehicle in park.

Just as a Coast Guard swimmer jumped into the icy waters off the Columbia River mouth in Oregon on Friday to rescue a man on a floundering motorboat, a set wave loomed. It was actually the Coastie’s first-ever rescue, and he was swimming toward a rescuee who had stolen the boat, and — just in case the situation wasn’t bizarre enough — who had placed a dead fish at the famed Goonies home in Astoria, Oregon.
 
Video from a Coast Guard helicopter shows the rescue swimmer approaching the boat as the man climbed over the transom and stood on the swim step, waiting. That’s when the wave began to rear, then broke in earnest, sending the motorboat tumbling like a puny toy.
 
Miraculously, both the rescue swimmer and the man were hoisted aloft by the helicopter and brought safely back to shore. Not long after, the man, who had been wanted by police — and who the Coast Guard didn’t know had stolen the boat — walked out of an Astoria hospital, scot-free.

RICHLAND, Miss. (WLBT) - The Richland Police Department were involved in an officer-involved shooting after they responded to a weapon being reported in the U.S. 49 Walmart. The shooting occurred around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday night. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has since revealed that Richland police were responding to a hostage situation at the Walmart. 

Allison Clark, spokeswoman for the Richland Police Department, confirmed that the incident resulted in an officer-involved shooting shortly before MBI released the new information. “We can confirm it is an officer-involved shooting at Walmart around 5:45 p.m. Walmart is cleared and secure,” Clark said. “Walmart is closed at this time.” The subject that held a person hostage is now deceased. MBI says there are no other injuries to report. Richland Police and Rankin County Sheriff’s deputies were on the scene. MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. The city council in Greensboro, North Carolina, fired a volunteer who worked as the city's zoning commissioner after he repeatedly refused a Black woman's calls to address her by her professional title during a zoom meeting.
 
The council in a unanimous vote on Tuesday decided to remove Tony Collins, a construction contractor, from the zoning commission after he during a virtual meeting refused to address Carrie Rosario, a UNC-Greensboro professor with a doctorate in public health, as "Dr. Rosario," The Greensboro News & Record reported.
 
According to the report, during an April 19 meeting, Collins, who is white, entered a tense exchange with Rosario over the way he addressed her during the virtual meeting. 
 
According to the report, the interaction occurred toward the end of the meeting when Rosario raised concerns about a proposed development project near her home. Collins told her that the discussion was off-topic and referred to her as "Mrs. Rosario." 
 
"It's Dr. Rosario, thank you, sir," Rosario said.
 
"If Mrs. Rosario has something," Collins responded.
 
"Dr. Rosario," she repeated.
 
"Well, you know, I'm sorry," Collins said. "Your name says on here 'Carrie Rosario.' Hey Carrie."
 
"It's Dr. Rosario," Rosario repeated. "I wouldn't call you Tony, so please, sir, call me as I would like to be called."
 
Collins dismissed Rosario, and said it "didn't matter." 
 
"It matters to me," she said. "And out of respect, I would like you to call me by the name that I'm asking you to call me by."

But Collins continued to push back.

Rosario told McClatchy News that she had previously corrected another council member during the call, who apologized and corrected himself. She said she viewed Collins' repeated refusal to call by her title "a personal attack of disrespect."
