Amniotomy (an artificial rupture of membranes) is the procedure done by which the amniotic sac is deliberately ruptured so as to cause the release of amniotic fluid. Amniotomy is usually performed for the purpose of inducing or expediting labor.

In the footage, the twins can be seen encased in their sacs, meanwhile as the medical team gently pull them open, they begin to break free for themselves.

There is a trail in Ontario, Canada that the local mountain bikers call Devil's Drop. It's a thrilling two minute descent through switchbacks and hairpin curves. It offers impossibly steep, banking sections that test a rider's ability to hang on to the handlebars and lean into the curves. Rock sections appear in front of the bikers and then end abruptly, launching riders momentarily into the air before they drop down onto the hard packed dirt for the next descent. The trees whiz past quickly and the forest is breath taking, but admiring the view is next to impossible when all your attention needs to be on the trail in front of the bike. Sharp turns come out of nowhere, making a rider lean left and right as quickly as they can shift their weight. The handlebars barely clear the tree trunks in some areas and rocks stick through the hard dirt like scales protruding from a dragon's back. The descent is more than two minutes of high speed exhilaration that would leave even a seasoned rider's knuckles white and have the riders gasping for breath. The climb to the start of the trail is also breath taking, in a different sense, but it is well worth the effort. This trail has been expertly engineered for maximum thrills. It is easy to picture a roller coaster ride as a rider navigates the terrain and struggles to stay one step ahead of the twists and turns. The sicko perp accused of raping 4-year-old twins in Pennsylvania flashed a huge grin and spat at a Post photographer Wednesday following his arrest in New York. 
 
Isaiah Metz, who was wearing pajama bottoms and no shoes, laughed immediately after firing the spitball and screamed â€œbâ€”-hâ€� as he was hauled by cops into Manhattan Criminal Court. 
 
The 22-year-old â€” sporting unique bright red hair â€” had both his hands and feet cuffed after being nabbed hours earlier in Yonkers. 
 
The accused fiend had allegedly attacked two NYPD cops when they tried to take him into custody on the heinous sex assault charges at a Midtown homeless shelter on Tuesday morning, police and sources said. 
 
Metz, who is accused of punching and biting the cops before fleeing, had to be tased when fugitive task force officers eventually caught up with him late Tuesday, the sources said. 
 
He was briefly hospitalized before being brought to the Midtown South Precinct where he was slapped with a slew of charges, including assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and criminal trespass. 
 
The suspect was initially being sought for allegedly raping the young twin girls after he was adopted into a foster family in Goldsboro, Pennsylvania, police sources said. 
 
He is facing a total of 115 charges, including for child pornography offenses, in the horrific Pennsylvania case. 
 
Metz is already on parole for allegedly attacking another cop in Pennsylvania, CBS reported. Posted by JR
