An employee for a Texas school district is on leave after he was caught on camera tossing a litter of puppies over a fence at an animal shelter.
Surveillance video shows Paul Smith flinging the five three-week-old puppies over a six foot fence Saturday.
A worker with the Humane Society checked the video after she found the dogs in their aluminum fenced collection area.
She then posted it to social media, hoping to find the man responsible for the cruel act. After the video was posted, Smith turned himself into the police department.
He is now charged with animal cruelty and is on administrative leave from work.
The puppies are all okay and will be available for adoption next month.
