During a 1994 interview, Tupac Shakur spoke about the importance of gun rights and called out so-called civil rights leaders such as Jesse Jackson for turning their backs on their communities in exchange for political influence. Speaking with journalist Ed Gordon of BET in Atlanta, Tupac shared his perspective on his legal battles as well. At the time, Tupac and other rappers were being labeled as terrorists by politicians who were threatened by some of the messages contained within their music.
