A Ukrainian front-line battalion filmed its drone-led rescue of an injured Russian soldier.

The K-2 Battalion, which is part of the Ukrainian Army’s 54th Brigade, posted the video across several different social media platforms this week.

Set to eerie music, the video runs longest on Telegram at more than 18 minutes. It picks out the strained facial expressions of the injured Russian soldier, damage to his wrist watch and the streak of dried blood running down the side of his face.

In the video, the drone operator decides not to kill the injured Russian soldier and instead drops water and a note before leading him across No Man’s Land to a Ukrainian trench.

It is unclear where or when the video was shot, although it appears to be set in late summer on a battlefield in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. Throughout the war, the 54th Brigade has been positioned on the front line in the Donbas region.

The video appears to be part of a sophisticated recruitment for the K-2 Battalion which, like the rest of the Ukrainian army, is under pressure to sign up more soldiers.

The released video starts as a Ukrainian drone scans a Russian trench after an attack, searching for survivors. It spots the injured Russian soldier lying on top of at least two bodies under an earth arch. || Posted by CZ

Scientists from Yokohama National University â€” who have been studying hair follicle growth and hair pigmentation â€” generated hair follicles in petri dishes using embryonic skin cells from mice cultured in a special type of gel.

The findings were published Friday in the journal Science Advances.

â€œIf you think of a hair follicle, itâ€™s got the hair down the middle of it and then itâ€™s got layers of epithelial cells around the follicle and other specialized cells,â€� one cell biologist not involved in the study told New Scientist about the breakthrough. â€œThe gel allows these cells to grow in a laboratory in a way that means they can climb over and around each otherâ€� like they do in the body. "The corpse of a Russian model has been found stashed in a suitcase more than a year after she went missing following her criticism of Vladimir Putin.

Gretta Vedler, 23, was killed a month after she posted on social media calling Putin a â€œpsychopathâ€� and forecasting his drive to â€œenhance the integrity of Russia " would end in tears.

Her â€œjealousâ€� ex-boyfriend Dmitry Korovin, 23, has confessed more than a year later to strangling her to death after a row over money in Moscow unrelated to her political views and analysis of Putinâ€™s mind and motives.

He told interrogators that he slept in a hotel room for three nights with her corpse which he put in a newly-bought suitcase. Then he drove her body 300 miles to Lipetsk region and left it in the boot of a car for more than a year.

He kept posting pictures and messages on the modelâ€™s social media, to make friends believe she was still alive, he told detectives.

A male friend called Evgeniy Foster - a blogger in Kharkiv, the Ukrainian city blitzed by Russian forces - became suspicious found a friend in Moscow to file a missing person case, triggering a search which eventually located her body. " A Middle Township Elementary School teacher in South Jersey is facing charges after she allegedly had a child with a student she's accused of sexually assaulting inside her home several years ago.
Laura Caron, 34, of Cape May Court House, was arrested on Wednesday on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The alleged crimes happened between 2016 and 2020 at the suspect's home in Cape May Court House. Authorities say the victim was 13 years old and living with then-28-year-old Caron when their child was born in 2019. Laura Caron, 34, of Cape May Court House, was arrested on Wednesday on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The case was brought to light when the victim's father made a social media post in December 2024 saying Caron's 5-year-old child looked very similar to him and his son, according to investigators.
Authorities say Caron taught the victim and his brother in the 5th grade.
Over the years, the parents of the victim said the family became friends with Caron, which ultimately led to them even allowing their boys and daughter to stay at Caron's home at times. The visits began one to two nights a week, but the children stayed with Caron permanently from 2016 to 2020, authorities revealed in court documents.
During her first appearance hearing, the judge identified Caron as a "resource family parent" for the children.
The victim's sister, who stayed at Caron's home at one point, allegedly told police she thought her brother was about 11 years old when he started sleeping with his teacher in the same bed. According to the criminal complaint, the sister revealed the children would sleep in a shared room on the second floor, but noticed her brother would be in Caron's bed the next morning.
