"A White Florida woman was convicted Friday of manslaughter in the fatal shooting of a Black neighbor amid an ongoing dispute about children playing loudly outside her home.

An all-White jury in Ocala, Florida, found 60-year-old Susan Lorincz guilty after 2 1/2 hours of deliberation. Lorincz faces up to 30 years in prison at sentencing. Lorincz had claimed self-defense when she fired a single shot with a .380-caliber handgun through her front door on June 2, 2023, killing 35-year-old Ajike "A.J." Owens. Lorincz told detectives in a videotaped interview that she feared for her life as Owens yelled and pounded on her door.

"I panicked and I thought, 'Oh my God, she's really going to kill me this time,' you know," Lorincz told Marion County Sheriff's investigators. "And so I don't even actually remember picking up the gun, I just remember shooting."

"A black cop lost everything after he was falsely accused of graping  his best friend's white neighbor in a threesome on his birthday.

Freddie Douglas, 43, had to be bailed out by his elderly mother and sell his house to pay legal bills after he was fired upon being charged with rape last December.

The father-of-two was only saved because his friend John Marks had a security system that recorded everything and proved the sex was consensual.


Douglas is suing the Manvel Police Department and Marks' neighbor Amanda Zawieruszynski, who made the false grape and kidnapping claims.

He thanked his wife, Stefanie Coffman-Douglas, for sticking by him in a Facebook post when the charges were finally dropped, but it was not clear if they stayed together or were just amicably co-parenting.


Until his arrest on December 7, Douglas was a respected detective at the El Campo Police Department since 2011, and named Officer of the Year for 2020.

The lawsuit filed in federal court on Thursday detailed how the decorated cop's nightmare began when he met Zawieruszynski, 40, for the first time at Marks' house in Manvel, just outside Houston, on November 8.

Marks, 41, bought the newly built five-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom house on Palermo Way for $629,950 last May and soon met his new neighbor across the street.

He and Zawieruszynski soon began a months-long sexual relationship as she had separated from her husband, Michael, earlier that year.

Douglas, who called Marks his 'longtime best friend', came over early in the afternoon and soon met Zawieruszynski, who arrived with a tray of cupcakes she baked for his birthday." - DailyMail  | Posted by Thrillz

Jason Fauntleroy thought he’d snagged a great deal when he purchased a vacant lot in Trenton, Ohio, for $5,000 from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office auction three years ago.
 
Yet he quickly realized he got more than he bargained for.
 
He only planned to use the lot to build himself a home, but the price included the entire street, where several other homes are located.
 
Now, the city of Trenton is trying to reclaim the street through eminent domain. Fauntleroy told WCPO 9 News he’s not being offered what he deserves.
 
“They shut me out,” Fauntleroy said of his interactions with the city. “They blocked my calls. It’s hard to even get through to anybody. It’s been a nightmare.”
 
When the city began the process of reclaiming the land, Fauntleroy says they only assessed the value of the lot — not the entire street.
 
“I’m not sure how that [Fauntleroy’s ownership of the street] occurs other than it was a private drive that was created through a homeowner’s association,” Trenton City Manager Marcos Nichols told WCPO News.
 
“The homeowner’s association was responsible for maintaining that property and upkeeping it.”
 
When asked why only a portion of the lot was considered for the appraisal value, Nichols replied, “I cannot speak to the appraised value.”
 
According to Nichols, the city plans to convert the private drive — which is the only way to access several homes on the street — into a publicly maintained roadway.
 
Is this even legal?
 
Eminent domain does allow the government to seize private property for public use, but the law also requires just compensation for the property owner. The definition of “just compensation” is often subject to dispute.
