A cargo ship sank off Turkeyâ€™s Black Sea coast on Sunday, leaving at least three people dead, Turkish authorities said. Six others were rescued.

The transport ministry said the Palau-flagged ship named Arvin had anchored off the port of Bartin in northern Turkey due to bad weather, before breaking into two pieces and sinking.

Emergency workers saved at least six crew members and reached the bodies of two others, the ministryâ€™s naval branch said on Twitter. Bartinâ€™s Gov. Sinan Guner said a third person had died, according to the official Anadolu news agency.

The navy sent a frigate to assist rescue efforts. The transport ministry said the ship had 12 crew members, including two Russians and 10 Ukrainians.

The cargo ship was en route to Bulgaria from Georgia but the Black Sea region has been buffeted by heavy rains, snow and strong winds. Posted By PSmooth

An american aircraft carrier is on a mission for months with about 5,000 US US sailors on board. It is very vulnerable and therefore there is a high probability of someone dying on board. The famous flight deck where planes take off and land is also used for funeral ceremonies when someone dies on board. What happens when someone dies in the middle of the sea and why is the burial carried out at sea and not on land? US Navy Burial at sea. 

In a scenario where the deceased has to be taken to land while the aircraft carrier is on deployment, the body is placed in a body bag and stored in a freezer known to sailors as a reefer. This storing procedure is to preserve the body until the deceased can be transferred to a morgue. The naval term for transferring a dead body to land is called Personnel Transfer. Unless the vessel is at war or engaged in a battle, the deceased can be Pers-Trans'd to a medical examiner in a couple of days. Otherwise, the body might be preserved for weeks, sometimes months. However, if there is no request to deliver the body to land, the sailor is buried at sea.

There is a standard procedure for a disposition at sea. Everyone attending the funeral must be appropriately dressed in the Uniform of the Day. The adjutant, also known as the Officer of the Deck, announces "All hands bury the dead'' to the members of the ship. If possible, the ship is brought to a stop. Leaked footage from last month's crash onboard the USS Carl Vinson which was patrolling in the South China Sea has been making the rounds online, and it depicts a harrowing display of a fighter jet skidding of the deck on an aircraft carrier before dropping into the ocean.
 
A spokesperson for the US Navy's 7th Fleet told the Military Times that the photo of the plane in the water, and the screen recorded video of the crash are both authentic, saying â€œthe ship has assessed that the video and photo covered in the media â€¦ were taken on board USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) during the crash.â€�
 
The wreckage currently sits at the bottom of the ocean and officials are assessing attempts at salvaging the 94 million dollar Lockheed Martin jet, stating â€œwe are taking appropriate planning actions to salvage our aircraft and recover in a timely manner as we have done in the past." "NASA satellite discovers second Earth-sized planet in habitable zone

A second planet has been found in the habitable zone of a star just 100 light-years from our solar system.

Discovered in data from NASAâ€™s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, the planet orbits a star called TOI 700, a red dwarf star in the constellation Dorado.

TOI 700 becomes one of very few star systems with multiple, small, habitable-zone planets that astronomers know of.

Red dwarf stars are cooler than stars like our Sun, but much more abundant in our Milky Way galaxy. Red dwarfs account for about 70% of all stars.

The new planet is called TOI 700 e and takes 28 days to orbit its star. About 95% Earthâ€™s size and likely rocky, it orbits in the habitable zone of the star, as does another planet called TOI 700 d, which orbits every 37 days.

A habitable zone around a star refers to an orbit thatâ€™s close enough to be warm enough allow liquid water on the surface. Thatâ€™s crucial because scientists believe life can only exist when liquid water is present.

â€œPlanet e is about 10% smaller than planet d, so the system also shows how additional TESS observations help us find smaller and smaller worlds, which makes the TOI 700 system an exciting prospect for additional follow up,â€� said Emily Gilbert, a postdoctoral fellow at NASAâ€™s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, who led the work and presented the findings at this weeks 241st meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Seattle. The same researchers also found TOI 700 d in 2020." - Forbes
