A Chicago man shot seven people at five different locations throughout the city Saturday, killing at least three of them, police said.

Police in the north suburb of Evanston fatally shot Jason Nightingale in a parking-lot shootout, ending his killing spree, local CBS affiliate WBBM reported.

Cops said Nightingale fatally shot a 30-year-old University of Chicago student in the South Side neighborhood of Hyde Park around 1 p.m. local time, according to WBBM. The man was sitting in his car in a garage,

"Police in North Carolina are investigating after a 12-year-old shot at two masked intruders, fatally wounding one of them, after they forced their way into an apartment and shot the boy's grandmother.

Officers responded about 1 a.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting in a residential area. Police arrived at the scene to find a 73-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wound. Shortly after, a man who had also been shot was found at a nearby intersection.
The victim and the suspect were both transported to Wayne UNC Health Care hospital. The man, identified as Khalil Herring, 19, of Goldsboro, died from his injuries.

The investigation revealed two people forced their way into the home, demanded money and shot the woman in the leg. During the robbery, a 12-year-old shot the intruders with a firearm in self-defense, causing them to flee, investigators said. Evidence suggests Herring was one of the two masked intruders and was shot during the incident.

"They came in the house, I open the door, I open it, and they came in there. ... One guy had a gun. They just put me down on the ground," said Randolph Bunn, the woman's son. Bunn is also the great-uncle of the child who fired the gun." - NC News

Edmonton police are investigating a shooting that happened Saturday evening in the Ormsby Place neighborhood.

Several 911 callers reported gunshots in the area of Ormsby Crescent around 6:45 p.m.

Police say a man was out for a walk with his family, including two young children, when a red Nissan Rogue was driven up behind them.

Two masked people got out of the SUV and started to chase the man southeast through the green space between Ormsby Crescent and Ormsby Road East while shooting at him. They eventually returned to their SUV and left the area.

"What I do want to convey was how absolutely irresponsible this act was, electing to shoot up a neighborhood filled with families in broad daylight. We could easily be talking about life-threatening injuries or homicides here today," said Acting Insp. Eric Stewart of the Edmonton Police Service's Organized Crime Branch during a Wednesday news conference.

Three men, including a well-known rapper, were shot Saturday morning inside a River North parking garage, according to Chicago police and multiple sources. 
 
Police responded to calls of shots fired at a parking garage at 6 West Grand around 9:53 a.m. and found three victims with gunshot wounds, a CPD report said. A stolen Dodge Durango peppered with bullet holes was found crashed at the scene. 
 
According to multiple sources, one of the shooting victims is Tavares Taylor, a 28-year-old rapper whoâ€™s known as â€œLil Reese.â€� The other two victims are a 20-year-old man and a 27-year-old man. All three men were taken to hospitals, but their conditions were not immediately available. 
 
This is the second time Taylor has been shot in 18 months. On November 11, 2019, he was critically wounded when a man shot him in the neck in suburban Country Club Hills by a gunman armed with an AK47 assault rifle. 
 
He later offered to sell the story of his shooting for $1 million. Posted by JR
