A suspected drunken driver seriously injured a woman in Baltimore and damaged of number of cars and businesses following an altercation that spilled over from a bar into the street's in one of the city's more popular nightlife districts.
Orlando Redd, 28, was charged with assault, malicious destruction of property, public endangerment as well as a number of traffic offenses - for an incident that was streamed live online Friday evening. (WARNING: Video contains violence and some adult language.)
The video showed a group of people surrounding the 1999 Honda Odyssey in the 700 block of South Broadway Street at 2:15 a.m. The men were hitting the car repeatedly in an attempt to get the driver out of the van.
That's when, police said, Redd rammed the car in front of him to get away from the group. He then reversed and accelerated onto the sidewalk where he severely injured a 27-year-old woman.
Baltimore Police spokesman T.J. Smith said "miraculously" the woman was expected to survive. Her condition was described as "serious but stable" and her injuries considered "non-life threatening."
