n days before his 16th birthday, Kalief Browder was arrested in the Bronx on charges of stealing a backpack. Browder would spend the next three years at Rikers Island, New York Cityâ€™s massive jail complex, awaiting trial. He spent two of those years in solitary confinement. His case was eventually dismissed.

Internal surveillance videos obtained by The New Yorker show that Browderâ€™s time awaiting trial in prison was treacherous. One video, from 2012, shows a guard slamming Browder to the ground while he is handcuffed. The guard had approached Browderâ€™s cell to escort him to the shower. â€œI just felt [the guard] tighten a grip around my arm,â€� Browder told The New Yorker after watching the footage for the first time. â€œIn my head, I was wondering why he tightened it so tight, like he never usually does, and thatâ€™s when he swung me and kept trying to slam me.â€�
 A second clip, from 2010, shows Browder at 17 years old being beaten by a group of fellow inmates at Rikerâ€™s adolescent facility.
 According to The New Yorker, Browder was assigned to a housing unit ruled by a gang. Browder, who was not a gang member, says a gang leader spit in his face. Browder tells The New Yorker he felt he needed to retaliate or else be continually spat on. That night, Browder punched the inmate who spit on him. charged Tuesday with child seduction involving the 
same 16-year-old student.

According to Indiana State Police, Nicholas 
Vester, 24, Craig Rogers, 24, and Brandon Largent, 
20, individually and separately engaged in various 
acts of a sexual nature with the boy.

punishment for an undisclosed trespass and got 
into an argument with his mother, Rashida. He did 
what any ordinary lunatic would do and resolved to 
kill her in her sleep with a hammer. She survived 
after getting hit 20 times with a claw hammer, and 
Kendall tried to finish the job with a "cremation" 
in the kitchen oven. The Hansel & Gretel approach 
also failed to end the job, so he decided to drop 
the clever shit and beat her to death with a chair 
leg. Classy.

"If I could, I would not do it again. I really 
miss my mom ... she was the only person who cared 
for me," said the killer, after confessing the 
murder to Philadelphia Police. 

He has been charged with murder, possession of an 
instrument of crime, and abuse of a corpse. 

More Details
If you're not keen on hearing of video game 
related violence -- particularly the especially 
grisly sort, I recommend you read no further. A 
quite obviously mental 16 year old boy has 
confessed to murdering his mother in a most 
gruesome manner.

Why? She took away his Playstation as means of 
punishment; a chastening that would prove to be 
fatal.

After a heated, 90 minute argument with his 
mother, Rashida Anderson, 16 year old Kendall 
Anderson snuck in to her bedroom and bludgeoned 
her with a a claw hammer in her sleep. When the 20 
or so brutal strikes failed to kill her, he 
dragged her downstairs and tried to cremate her in 
the kitchen oven. When that too failed, he 
savagely beat her to death with a the leg of her 
chair. HE then tried to hide her broken body in an 
alley behind his house.

Lucke, reading the boy's confession said the boy 
showed some remorse, saying If I could, I would 
not do it again. I really miss my mom . . . she
