Metropolitans 92 announced that their center Miralem Halilovic has been diagnosed with a displaced jaw fracture.

The big man will undergo surgery, including osteosynthesis, and will be out for at least three months which means he will very likely miss the rest of the season.


Halilovic suffered the injury during the French League game against Roanne when the opposing Boubacar Toure intentionally punched him in the face.

Toure was immediately kicked out of the game and there werenâ€™t any additional incidents. The Senegalese center is waiting for the decision of the French League regarding the punishment.

The Oklahoma City Police Department has released arrest footage of its own Capt. James French, who is a 32-year veteran the department, being given a field sobriety test while asking the arresting officer to cut him a break â€” to which the officer declines.
 
French can be heard in the video identifying himself as a captain with the investigations bureau of the department, admitting that he had three or four beers at a poker game that evening. He then asks the officer to turn off his body camera so the two can talk, but the officer refuses.
 
â€œIâ€™m not turning my camera off. You got to be kidding me,â€� the officer says.
 
French later does poorly on the sobriety test, prompting to continue to ask the officer to turn off his camera.

"A French student died by suicide after receiving a failed beard transplant in Istanbul from someone allegedly pretending to be a surgeon.

In March 2024, 24-year-old Mathieu Vigier Latour travelled to Istanbul for a beard transplant. He was studying business in Paris at the time. Medical professionals encourage people who are considering travelling to Turkey for procedures to thoroughly research a doctor’s qualifications as the title of “cosmetic surgeon” is not protected by law, DW reported.. Dr. Susanne Punsmann, an expert with the North Rhine-Westphalia Consumer Advice Center in Germany, told Turkiye Today that it is a good idea for patients to check if a doctor or clinic has European standard certifications.

Latour’s father, Jacques Vigier Latour, spoke to the French broadcast network, BFM TV, about his son’s experience.

The plan was to remove 4,000 hair grafts from the back of his head and move them to his face. Jacques said the surgery caused his son’s hair to grow and be shaped unnaturally.

He said Latour was suffering both mentally and physically.

“He was in pain, suffered from burns, and he couldn’t sleep,” he said in French.

The family tried to find a qualified expert in France to help correct the failed transplant. After being unsuccessful, they found Dr. Jean Devroye, a hair transplant specialist based in Belgium.

Devroye examined Latour and found that 1,000 out of the 4,000 hair grafts that were removed from his scalp would not grow back. He also concluded that Latour would have permanent scarring.

Jacques said this news worsened his son’s mental health, leading to him developing body dysmorphic disorder — a mental health condition in which a person constantly worries about their appearance.

Authorities today were looking for suspects who stole a dozen French bulldog puppies from a Gardena pet shop that the owner said were worth more than $100,000. 

The crime occurred about 1 a.m. Tuesday at the Top Dog Pet Store in the 2500 block of Rosecrans Avenue, the store's owner told KTLA5. 

Security video shows four masked men breaking into the business. The burglars were seen arriving at the shop in a large white Chevy van. Details of the crime were not immediately released by Gardena police, who said only that the theft was under investigation. 

"They ran to where the dogs were, grabbed the cages, dragged them out and tossed them into the van," Andres Avalos, the shop's owner, told KTLA. "They came in through the front door, kicked the door open, turned the light on, grabbed the dogs, and took off."

Avalos said the suspects escaped with 12 French bulldogs, including a 10-month-old show dog named "Roll X." 

"It's a big financial loss," Avalos said. "The dogs were (worth) over $100,000. We use those dogs for breeding purposes and that's how we make a living. With the dogs being gone, it'll be tougher to get by now." 

As the dogs were moved outside, some of the suspects were seen quickly grabbing the small puppies and throwing them into the back of the van. The entire heist lasted only minutes, Avalos said. One suspect also broke into the shop's cash register and escaped with around $2,000 in cash.

KTLA reported that Avalos is offering a substantial monetary reward for anyone who can help track down the missing dogs and the thieves who took them. Posted by JR
