Shocking footage has captured a shark after it was attacked and half-eaten by other members of its own species, but managed to keep swimming for minutes before finally succumbing to its injuries.
 
Dr Mario Lebrato, 35, from Spain, captured the incredibly rare video of shark cannibalism one to two meters below the Indian ocean surface in Mozambique.
 
The researcher was filming the oceanic blacktip shark when releasing it back into the ocean, when a different group of around 10 sharks set upon it.
 
The resulting footage shows the shark after having already been attacked, with huge chunks ripped from its side and blood and flesh pouring into the water.
 
A huge hole can be seen in the side of the shark, with a second smaller chunk of flesh missing towards its tail fin.
 
Torn flesh and sinew are visible through the murky water caused by the blood leaking from the creature as it struggles in vain to swim away from the others.
 
Despite its injuries, the shark carried on swimming with a line still attached to its mouth as the other sharks continued to circle it ominously in the water. Posted By Ghost

A Florida mail carrier died Monday after being brutally mauled by five dogs after her truck broke down in a rural area the day before, authorities say. Jane Rock, 61, was screaming for help as the pack ambushed her, calling the attention of neighbors who arrived too late to stop the mauling, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday. 

Rockâ€™s niece said she had just started the job in December and was excited about it. Now, her family is enraged, questioning how the dogsâ€™ owners could be so negligent. â€œThey did not just attack her, they were ripping her apart,â€� Rockâ€™s niece, Kaydee Richley stated. 

Neighbors tried to free Rock from the dogsâ€™ grip but were unsuccessful, even after someone fired a rifle into the ground, cops said. By the time deputies arrived, the dogs had returned to their yard, which they had escaped by removing rocks under the fence. Just as a Coast Guard swimmer jumped into the icy waters off the Columbia River mouth in Oregon on Friday to rescue a man on a floundering motorboat, a set wave loomed. It was actually the Coastie’s first-ever rescue, and he was swimming toward a rescuee who had stolen the boat, and — just in case the situation wasn’t bizarre enough — who had placed a dead fish at the famed Goonies home in Astoria, Oregon.
 
Video from a Coast Guard helicopter shows the rescue swimmer approaching the boat as the man climbed over the transom and stood on the swim step, waiting. That’s when the wave began to rear, then broke in earnest, sending the motorboat tumbling like a puny toy.
 
Miraculously, both the rescue swimmer and the man were hoisted aloft by the helicopter and brought safely back to shore. Not long after, the man, who had been wanted by police — and who the Coast Guard didn’t know had stolen the boat — walked out of an Astoria hospital, scot-free. Posted By Ghost
