New Mississippi Bill Would Pay $1,000 To Bounty Hunters And Tippers For Capturing Undocumented Immigrants, If Passed!
"DeSoto County District Attorney Matthew Barton announced a proposed “bounty hunter” program that would pay people to report and identify undocumented immigrants.
House Bill 1484, authored by State Representative Justin Keen, will be known as the Mississippi Illegal Alien Certified Bounty Hunter Program.
The program would offer $1,000 to registered bounty hunters to assist U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in deporting people in DeSoto County.
The money will be funded by the general assembly and administered by the state treasurer.
“This program is a vital step in assisting our law enforcement agencies to better enforce immigration laws and ensure that those in this country unlawfully are sent back to their country of origin,” Barton said.
Barton says more than 1,000 undocumented immigrants were booked into DeSoto County’s detention center in the past four years." - WLBT News | Posted by Thrillz
