Boston Dynamics, the company known for its robotic dogs, now has a humanoid robot capable of doing gymnastics.

The robotics company previously has shown how its robot dogs can go down stairs and open doors. Some police departments have begun using the robot dogs, typically called Spot, to help patrol. And Atlas, which the company dubbed "the world's most dynamic humanoid," showed in an earlier video how the robot can jog and jump over a log.

In a new video, Atlas now can do parkour â€“ a sport of moving through obstacles â€“ jumping and running along uneven platforms. Then, two humanoid robots do synchronized movements including turning, spinning and two flips, mirroring each other moves. Posted by Abdul

Baldness could soon be a thing of the past.

A team of Japanese researchers has successfully grown mature hair follicles in a lab, an advancement in the battle against hair loss.

Scientists from Yokohama National University â€” who have been studying hair follicle growth and hair pigmentation â€” generated hair follicles in petri dishes using embryonic skin cells from mice cultured in a special type of gel.

The findings were published Friday in the journal Science Advances.

â€œIf you think of a hair follicle, itâ€™s got the hair down the middle of it and then itâ€™s got layers of epithelial cells around the follicle and other specialized cells,â€� one cell biologist not involved in the study told New Scientist about the breakthrough. â€œThe gel allows these cells to grow in a laboratory in a way that means they can climb over and around each otherâ€� like they do in the body.
