FREEPORT, Texas – A couple walking along a Texas beach came across a sea of shock Friday morning after finding thousands of dead fish washed up along the shore.

“Was hoping to take advantage of the flat surf and catch a quick limit of speckled trout, but things didn’t go as planned, unfortunately!” said Darrell Schoppe, who shared a video of the fish on Facebook.

The fish came from the mouth of the Brazos River and were scattered for miles down the shoreline of Quintana Beach, near Freeport, Texas, according to Schoppe.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department investigated the eerie scene, and their findings indicated a “low dissolved oxygen event,” they told KSAT on Saturday.

North Carolina beach house collapses into the ocean, making it the fourth home to fall due to coastal erosion in the area in the past five weeks.

The house was supposed to be demolished this week but the ocean had other plans.

The unfortunate owner of the 4 bed, 5 bath home tried selling it for $460,000 just a couple of years ago according to realtor dot com.

The home was built in 1998.

The U.S. Coast Guard announced Thursday that it was offloading a record-shattering amount of cocaine and marijuana at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The illegal narcotics â€” worth more than $1.4 billion â€” was "the largest offload in Coast Guard history," according to a press release.

"Today's offload is a result of our combined efforts of our inter-agency partners and a dedicated international coalition," said Vice Admiral Steven Poulin, commander Atlantic area.

Crew members of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter James offloaded approximately 59,700 pounds of cocaine and approximately 1,430 pounds of marijuana. The Coast Guard said there were 27 incidents in which suspected drug smuggling vessels were stopped by various American, Dutch and Canadian ships in international waters of the eastern Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Chinese coast guard ships fired water cannons at two Philippine patrol vessels Tuesday near a disputed shoal in the South China Sea, damaging both in the latest flare-up in an increasingly tense territorial conflict.
 
There were no immediate reports of injuries in the incident off Scarborough Shoal, one of two hotly disputed areas where confrontations between China and the Philippines have flared on and off since last year.
 
A Philippine coast guard ship and an accompanying fisheries vessel were patrolling the waters off Scarborough Shoal when four Chinese coast guard ships, backed by six suspected militia ships, executed dangerous blocking maneuvers, Philippine coast guard spokesperson Commodore Jay Tarriela said.
 
A Chinese coast guard ship used a water cannon against the fisheries vessel, the BRP Bankaw, and two other Chinese coast guard ships hit the Philippine coast guard ship, the BRP Bagacay, simultaneously from both sides, damaging part of its deck railing and a canopy, Tarriela added.
