Zookeepers at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park jumped into action when a dog entered a gorilla enclosure. The scary moment was caught on camera by guests visiting the park. The male shepherd ran around in distress as a gorilla began to chase it around the exhibit. Zookeepers were able to safely leash the dog and remove him from the area for evaluation. A girl was injured after being hit in the face with a bottle from an angry chimp who she had been filming at a zoo in China. 
 
Footage shows how the male primate was clearly agitated as he jumped up and down in his enclosure at Nanning Zoo before looking for the bottle and launching the attack. 
 
The girl's mum, who was not named, told how they had been enjoying the trip to the zoo when suddenly her daughter was hit by a bottle of mineral water and injured her eye. 
 
As the girl was recording the chimp, the animal lobbed the bottle which hit her in the eye and caused bleeding but there is no up-to-date information on her condition. 
 
Additionally, the phone screen broke when it fell to the ground after being hit by the bottle, according to local media. 
 
Nanning Zoo told local media they are investigating the case and cannot comment at this stage. 
 
The incident has divided opinion online with some accusing the tourists of driving the ape crazy with their behavior, while others felt that there should be better security in place as the chimp was a danger to visitors. 
 
It is not the first incident recently involving an ape at the zoo throwing objects at visitors. 
 
In a video a woman can be seen standing behind the barrier of an enclosure when a powerful ape started to hurl mud at her as she started to walk past. 
 
While he missed his attempts on her another luckless spectator did get struck by the mud after not ducking in time. 
 
The woman - named Ms Tan in local media - said the ape seemed to follow her around the enclosure no matter where she went. 
 
Eventually, believing she was safe behind the wall, she started filming a selfie with the ape in the background but she had to hide under the wall and almost got hit again when he kept trying to hit her. Posted by JR

An orangutan at an Australian Perth zoo was filmed throwing a possum into a neighboring enclosure to the horror of on-looking visitors. 
 
The possum, which had walked into the orangutan's enclosure was pursued before being thrown like a football. 
 
A Perth zoo official told Yahoo that, "I would presume it did not survive the fall. Obviously the loss of any living creature saddens us, but also nature playing out.”

SAN DIEGO -- A father has been arrested on suspicion of child endangerment after he carried his 2-year-old daughter into the elephant habitat at the San Diego Zoo to take a photograph with the animals. 
 
The man bypassed multiple barriers and "purposely and illegally trespassed" into a habitat for Asian and African elephants Friday afternoon, zoo spokesman Andrew James said. 
 
A witness video provided to NBC San Diego shows a man dropping the child as they flee the enclosure as a trumpeting elephant charged at them. The man picked up the toddler and was able to get her out safely. 
 
Police said the 25-year-old man wanted to take a photo with the African bull elephant. James said the elephants were not harmed. 
 
San Diego County jail records show Jose Manuel Navarrete was being held on $100,000 bail for investigation of child endangerment. He was set to be arraigned on March 30. Posted by JR

Skip to 3:49 TAMPA, Fla. â€” Hillsborough County Judge Christopher Sabella sentenced admitted killer Steven Lorenzo to death by lethal injection for two murders he committed in 2003.
 
Last December, Lorenzo pleaded guilty to drugging, torturing, raping, murdering, and dismembering Jason Galehouse and Michael Wachholtz.
 
Previously in the sentencing trial, Lorenzo asked the judge for the death penalty.
 
"I'm 64 years old. I could be on death row for 10, 15 years. The comforts that they get on the death row are a lot more comfortable than it is in the federal system. You get your own private cell, you get your own tv, you get your own computer, you get all this stuff," Lorenzo said.
 
Lorenzo stopped the judge before he announced the sentence to make a last minute statement.
 
"I'm seeking the death penalty. It's in my best interest basically, because it's a comfort. I'll be living my life more comfortable than it would in the federal system. Living on death row, believe it or not, and and of course, that may sound selfish, but I've lived in a private cell for the last five years and I'm going to have a private cell on death row," he said.
 
Lorenzo also talked about reincarnation multiple times. The mention was in reference to the prosecutor's work on the trial.
 
"You did a very good job of prosecuting this case. So I want to thank you for that. Because I appreciate your fairness to me. And that's what I appreciate. In this lifetime, I'm a bad guy. You're the good guy. Maybe the next lifetime, this role will be reversed. Who knows?" he said.
 
He later brought up reincarnation again, this time in reference to his desire to speed up his time on Death Row. Posted By Ghost
