Mother Charged With Murder After Cops Find Out She Drove Around For Ten Years With Her Son's Body In The Car!
A Virginia woman has been charged with murdering her son whose remains were allegedly found in a car she was driving more than 10 years after he went missing.
Tonya Slaton, 45, is charged with second degree murder in the death of Quincy Davis, according to an indictment obtained by PEOPLE. The indictment charges Slaton with killing her son between July 24, 2004, and July 24, 2005. His remains were discovered in June 2015.
Quincy would have been 14 or 15 at the time of his death, The Virginia Pilot reports. The paper also reports that the cause and manner of his death are undetermined, and that he was never reported missing.
Last June, a Virginia state trooper stopped a car Slaton was driving with expired license plates, according to a statement by the state police. During the stop, the trooper allegedly discovered human remains in the car and subsequently charged Slaton with concealment of a dead body, the statement says.
WTVR reports that according to an affidavit, the trooper discovered a trash bag in the trunk and that there "was a strong odor of rotting flesh permeating from the bag."
