Zuckerberg revealed himself to be a massive MMA fan during a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. Per Vice, Zuck said that not only does he love to watch but heâ€™s become something of a grappler himself.

â€œI really like watching UFC for example, but I also like doing the sport. Itâ€™s because I have a connection to it,â€� Zuckerberg said. â€œSince COVID, I got super into surfing and foiling, and then really into MMA. I know a lot of people who do it. Thereâ€™s actually this really interesting connection between people who surf and do jiu-jitsu.â€�

Zuckerberg says in the interview that he has been training under jiu-jitsu fighter Dave Camarillo, who has trained UFC stars such as Daniel Cormier and Cain Velasquez.

â€œA bunch of the guys who I do that with, they kind of, have gyms on Kauai and I, basically collected a bunch of recommendations, ran them by a bunch of people who I know, and I trained with this guy Dave Camarilloâ€”Guerilla Jiu Jitsuâ€”the crazy thing is, it really is the best sport.â€�

As for why heâ€™s drawn to MMA and jiu-jitsu, the Facebook founder says that it taps into something primal and competitive.

Nineteen children and two adults were killed in aÂ horrifying spree of gun violenceÂ at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, Tuesday in what is now the second deadliest school shooting in the US. 
The lone gunman, identified by officials as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, was shot and killed by responding law enforcement. He arrived at Robb Elementary School with a long rifle and wearing body armor, according to Sgt. Erick Estrada with the Texas Department of Public Safety. 
The school teaches second through fourth grades and had 535 students in the 2020-21 school year, according to state data. Hours after the shooting Tuesday,Â parents were desperately waitingÂ at a civic center near the school to find out if their children had survived. Some told CNN they gave their DNA to help identify the victims. 
Ramos shot his grandmother Tuesday morning before arriving at the school, Estrada said, and police had been called to her home to investigate. She was in critical condition late Tuesday, Estrada said. ,br>
After that, police received another report around 11:30 a.m. that a vehicle had crashed into a ditch near the elementary school, Estrada said. Police believe Ramos was driving that vehicle, which became disabled inside the ditch. 
Following the crash, Ramos exited the vehicle with a rifle in hand and wearing a bulletproof vest, Estrada said. The shooter was a student at Uvalde High School, officials said. Three days before shooting, a photo of two AR-15-style rifles appeared on an Instagram account tied to Ramos. Posted by CZ

A Thursday sentencing hearing at the Orangeburg County Courthouse ended not long after it started when the father of murder victim Willie Antoine Fields punched his sonâ€™s confessed killer, Lindy Lamont Jones. WEST ORANGE, Texas — Newly released body camera video shows the moments a 12-year-old boy flagged down a West Orange police officer to save his mother from drowning.
 
Jonquetta Winbush is still in the ICU three weeks after driving off the road and into a body of water in July. The wreck happened near Highway 8 and Edgar Brown Drive. 
 
Winbush suffered a seizure, causing the wreck. Thankfully she has been taken off the ventilator and is breathing on her own.

On Monday, the City of West Orange honored the team of officers and citizens who helped rescue the mother of two.
 
Epifanio Munguia risked his life to rescue Winbush. Munguia was in the right place at the right time to save a life. Munguia says he spotted Winbush's car in the water off Highway 87, on the evening of July 24.
 
Winbush's two children were in the car at the time of the wreck and were able to get out. But Winbush couldn't. The kids flagged down a police officer for help.
 
Munguia was one of many including the two West Orange police officers who stopped to help pull her out.
 
"After I saw her I was overwhelmed with emotions, so I messaged him and I want to personally thank you for being there for my niece and nephew and ultimately my sister, because he really helped save her life," said Bevnisha Holman, Winbush's sister.
 
Munguia and Holman have stayed in contact after the rescue, and Munguia says he's invested in Winbush's recovery, because he knows her young children need her.
 
"It's good to know that attention is coming to it for the fact that we want Jonquetta to recover and people praying for her and possibly get her some more help after she recovers. So that's really what's on my mind," Munguia said.
 
He even stopped by St. Elizabeth Hospital to check in on her and her kids who went back to school on Monday.
