Thousands of people are saying they might've chosen the wrong profession after seeing how much a UPS driver makes in a week.

Skyler Stutzman, an Oregon-based UPS delivery driver who posts to TikTok, has gotten over 11.9 million views on a video he posted in October.

In the clip, Stutzman showed a recent pay stub with his pre-tax earnings of $2,004 total for one week of work. After all the taxes and deductions, Skyler took home about $1,300 for 42 hours of work. At a pay rate of $44.26 per hour, many in the video's comments were shocked to learn that they earn less than a UPS driver.

On Friday, rescue workers in the earthquake-affected city of Gaziantep, Turkey made an unexpected discovery while working to save lives and retrieve bodies from the rubble. "Baltimore City is moving forward with a program that will sell some vacant homes for just $1.

Wednesday morning, the Board of Estimates approved the program, but not everyone was on board.

City Council President Nick Mosby succeeded in getting the board to defer the item two weeks ago after detailing his concerns. But the spending board passed the new pricing structure in a four-to-one vote with Mosby as the lone "No."

More than 13,000 homes in Baltimore are vacant. The city owns close to 1,000 of them. Individual buyers and community land trusts are eligible to buy the city-owned vacant houses for $1. Small nonprofits can purchase the homes for $1,000. Developers and larger nonprofits would need to pay $3,000.

The hope is that area residents will buy the vacant homes or lots, fix them up and live in them. Mosby argued that without specific written protections, city residents won't be given priority in buying the properties, and they will be pushed out when neighborhoods improve.

"I did agree with a lot of the president's concerns about the problems that we're facing in terms of affordable housing and in some places, gentrifying of neighborhoods. With just days to go before the government runs out of money, the Senate has unveiled a bipartisan stopgap bill in a bid to avert a shutdown – but there’s no guarantee that it will be able to pass in the House.

The release of the Senate bill, which was negotiated on a bipartisan basis, sets up a stark contrast – and a showdown – with the House, where the Republican majority faces deep divisions and the demands of hardline conservatives have been highly influential in driving the agenda as a shutdown looms.

The two chambers are now on a collision course as the House voted Tuesday night to advance a package of appropriations bill that are dead on arrival in the Senate and would not avert a government shutdown.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy dismissed the bipartisan Senate stopgap measure, telling reporters on Tuesday night, “Let me know” when they pass that bill and saying that he had talked to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell earlier in the day. McCarthy said the House will consider a separate stopgap bill with border provisions likely on Friday, regardless of whether GOP leadership is confident the votes are there to pass it.

McCarthy has little room to maneuver with only a narrow majority. Hardline conservatives have railed against the prospect of a short-term funding extension and many oppose additional aid to Ukraine, two major obstacles to finding consensus with the Senate.

The Senate stopgap bill, which would keep the government funded until November 17, includes $6.2 billion in Ukraine aid and $6 billion for natural disasters.

McCarthy told his leadership team Tuesday night that he plans to amend the Senate’s stopgap spending bill to include a House GOP border security package, according to multiple sources familiar, teeing up a massive confrontation with the Senate over immigration on the eve of the shutdown deadline." - CNN | Posted by Thrillz

According to police information, the criminals ordered her to get out of the car, but the vehicle did not start when they fled.
