A zoo in Eastern China has shut down suggestions online that their bears are actually humans dressed in bear costumes. The Hangzhou Zoo addressed the claims after a viral video on social media that showed a zoo sun bear standing on its hind legs led to some suspicions among viewers. They added that a person sporting a bear costume at the zoo "would not last more than a few minutes before collapsing".

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — The man killed in an officer-involved shooting in the Richmond Highway corridor Thursday had attacked another officer in his police cruiser and may have grabbed the second officer's firearm, Fairfax County's police chief said at a news conference.

Footage of the struggle between the man and an officer at a Citgo gas station, 6241 Richmond Highway, has been circulating on social media and among media outlets. A girl was injured after being hit in the face with a bottle from an angry chimp who she had been filming at a zoo in China. 
 
Footage shows how the male primate was clearly agitated as he jumped up and down in his enclosure at Nanning Zoo before looking for the bottle and launching the attack. 
 
The girl's mum, who was not named, told how they had been enjoying the trip to the zoo when suddenly her daughter was hit by a bottle of mineral water and injured her eye. 
 
As the girl was recording the chimp, the animal lobbed the bottle which hit her in the eye and caused bleeding but there is no up-to-date information on her condition. 
 
Additionally, the phone screen broke when it fell to the ground after being hit by the bottle, according to local media. 
 
Nanning Zoo told local media they are investigating the case and cannot comment at this stage. 
 
The incident has divided opinion online with some accusing the tourists of driving the ape crazy with their behavior, while others felt that there should be better security in place as the chimp was a danger to visitors. 
 
It is not the first incident recently involving an ape at the zoo throwing objects at visitors. 
 
In a video a woman can be seen standing behind the barrier of an enclosure when a powerful ape started to hurl mud at her as she started to walk past. 
 
While he missed his attempts on her another luckless spectator did get struck by the mud after not ducking in time. 
 
The woman - named Ms Tan in local media - said the ape seemed to follow her around the enclosure no matter where she went. 
 
Eventually, believing she was safe behind the wall, she started filming a selfie with the ape in the background but she had to hide under the wall and almost got hit again when he kept trying to hit her. Posted by JR

SAN DIEGO -- A father has been arrested on suspicion of child endangerment after he carried his 2-year-old daughter into the elephant habitat at the San Diego Zoo to take a photograph with the animals. 
 
The man bypassed multiple barriers and "purposely and illegally trespassed" into a habitat for Asian and African elephants Friday afternoon, zoo spokesman Andrew James said. 
 
A witness video provided to NBC San Diego shows a man dropping the child as they flee the enclosure as a trumpeting elephant charged at them. The man picked up the toddler and was able to get her out safely. 
 
Police said the 25-year-old man wanted to take a photo with the African bull elephant. James said the elephants were not harmed. 
 
San Diego County jail records show Jose Manuel Navarrete was being held on $100,000 bail for investigation of child endangerment. He was set to be arraigned on March 30. Posted by JR
